To celebrate its 170th anniversary, Temple B'nai Israel produced a lovely brochure about Home of Peace. Click here to view it.

Home of Peace is the cemetery of the Jewish Community of the Sacramento Region. Home of Peace offers an aesthetic and dignified final resting place to all of our constituents. The full spectrum of the Jewish community uses Home of Peace, and we offer a wide range of interment options to meet our diverse needs. Home of Peace was established in 1850 at 32nd Street and Alhambra Boulevard. In the early 1900’s it was chartered by Mosaic Law Congregation and Temple B’nai Israel as an independent non-profit entity. Its board consists of an equal number of appointees from these two congregations. In 1924, Home of Peace relocated to our current site at 6200 Stockton Boulevard because its Board members then knew that its original site would not accommodate the Jewish community’s growth in the decades ahead. Home of Peace is a self-supporting Jewish institution that serves the entire Sacramento Jewish community. We provide a chapel on-site for memorial services. We have designated sections within Home of Peace to meet the diverse needs of all segments of our community, from the most traditional to the most contemporary. For more information, please contact our Executive Director, Lew Rosenberg at 916.446.1409 or 916.804.0846 or homeofpeace@comcast.net
